English Lessons
English lessons at Dean Close are stimulating and varied. Every student receives 15 hours of lessons each week from qualified and imaginative teachers. Our students are tested on arrival and placed in multi-national classes based on ability. The maximum number of students in a class never exceeds 15.
Project work & day trip preparation
When learning a language, it is important that it is put into a real context and that students are able to use the language to express their interests and experiences. Each week the students work on a group project such as the school magazine to put their English in to practice, and have a lesson preparing them for their day trips.
Reports and certificates
Students’ progress is monitored closely during their stay and on departure all students receive a Dean Close International Summer School Certificate and a progress report.
The syllabus
The Dean Close syllabus focuses on communication and fluency. We use modern language teaching techniques, encouraging students to develop their English by providing them with information that is practical and useful.
Our daughter enjoyed a wonderful time, expanded her English, grew as a person and wants to go back next year.
